Sometimes 100mb runs wonderful on something that isn't actually cat5, or in the event Cat 5 Cat5e Cat 6 Cable Installation you only have 2 pairs hooked up, after which once you put gig gadgets it fails, but that's as a result of the cables aren't even cat5.
